Cash rating is the guide figures given to a safe to help grade the level of security it offers i.e. the higher the cash rating the higher the level of protection.

Insurers generally use cash rating as a guide i.e. a correctly installed safe with a £3000 cash rating will have insurance cover for up to £3,000 in cash or £30,000 worth of valuables.
